Simple syrup is made by cooking 2 parts sugar to 1 part water until the mixture is slightly thickened. It can be used as a sweetener in cocktails.
There are many different mixtures of simple syrup. We recommend making a 2:1 mixture like this one as it is shelf stable and can be stored for about 1 year.
